Alias:
Subaru-kun (by Seishirou)
Looks:
There are two basic surfaces of him, and both are good. In Tokyo Babylon
phase he was very girlish, huge emerald eyes hiding under his black bangs;
he wore some excentric but nice clothings (thanks to Hokuto-chan), along
with his ever-present gloves. In his X stage, however, Subaru looks much
more mature, with shorter hair and a far more conservative style. Note
that now he has a sorta eyepatch, to cover his right eye that he lost in
battle, and also take a look at the pentagram scars that he has in both
of his hands.
Smarts:
High, specially when it comes to Oumyjoutsu and esoterism; after all, that's
what he works with. A lethal flaw is that he lets his emotions dominate
him: that was what lost him in TB, and still causes him lotsa trouble in
X.
Personality:
Which one? *lol* When younger, very sweet and naive to the point of oblivion,
tending to self-sacrifice and the like. In X he's much more reserved and
less innocent, tending to alienate himself. But Seishirou states that under
that façade, Subaru has remained the same; the attitude he has towards
Yuzuriha and Kamui has proven the Sakurazukamori right.
Home
Economics: I suppose that Subaru is a little above average in this
now that Hokuto-chan isn't here. There aren't many evidences, though, and
possibly will be happy to have you helping him.
Fighting
skills: Depends on the plane you're talking about. Physically, Subaru
isn't going to be mugged, and would outclass the punks nicely. Now, talking
about the psychic/spiritual thing (read: death duels with the Chi no Ryu,
which he has survived and helped others to survive) is absoutely another
story...
Special
abilities: Subaru has psychic powers which he channelizes in different
Oumyjoutsu magics (finding people, summoning dead person's spirits, invoking
his shikigami). As a Dragon of the Heavens, Subaru is also capable of casting
a "kekkai" or mystic barrier, enabling him to create an alternative dimension
where he fights the evil guys.
Competition:
Sakurazuka
Seishirou. Shirou Kamui. The first one is the strongest influence in his
life: friend/lover/foe, his sister's murderer, target of his revenge and
the Only One who can grant him a very mysterious "Wish". I doubt anyone
can break this sorta masochist obsession that Subaru has with Seishirou,
and I dun reccomend you to try, or you'll be the next on in Seishirou's
list. About the Ten no Ryu's Kamui..., well, he was the person who could
break Subaru's tough shell of 'I-dun-care-a-s***-'bout-the-battle-of-the-Earth',
after he drove into his conscience and bonded with him to bring Kamui's
heart back to life. The huge crush that Kamui has adquired on Subaru is
going strong since then, but it actually seems that Subaru himself isn't
going to encourage it directly (maybe he's afraid of loving and losing
again, or doesn't want to make Seishirou target Kamui directly, or...).
No matter what SubaruXKamui fans say, I doubt those two get together, for
I don't think that both Sei-chan and Fuuma will stay arm-crossed at this...
In-Laws:
If she was alive, Hokuto-neechan would be pretty disappointed at first
about you for ruining her plans of making Subby and Sei-chan jump in bed,
but if your standards meet hers, she'd soon try to make you her little
sister, as well as her second mannequin. Lady Sumeragi has a wide kind
streak, but she herself wouldn't be sure of your union being happy for
a long time...
Finances:
He's rather well-payed as he is still the most popular and efficient medium
in Japan, so you can get by nicely.
Sex:
We've seen in Tokyo Babylon that Seishirou has tried to go into petting
(to some, touching the limit of sexual abuse) with him (mostly when he
faints) and some subtle hints that, somewhere in the year they passed together,
they may had eventually made love. So with BOTH sides of Subaru (the adorable
boy from TB or the skeptic youth from X), you'll have to deal with this
part of the Seishirou factor (well..., Seishirou is ever-present, anyway
^^;;), and shield yourself with persistance and PATIENCE.
Overall:
After 9 years of bitterness, poor Subaru is way too messed up in the head
and in the heart to accept even the possibility of loving again somoene
else than Seishirou and the memory of his deceased sister. But he's not
beyond redemption (just ask Kamui), so a stubborn and sweet girl may be
able to try her luck. I don't guarantee any success at getting his mind
out of his 'One-and-only' Wish, but who knows... * shrug*
