Mimi Tachikawa herself is the only child of the Tachikawa couple, two of the sweetest but weirder fellows you'll ever see in Odaiba, acting like newlyweds even when they've been married for about 15 years... Like parents, like daughter. Mimi grew up in this pampered rose-tinted world, getting everything her way and building herself a rosy-pink bubble where she lived happily, until she was ten years old and attended her elementary school's summer camp...

In the camp she attended with her classmate Koushiro Izumi and her girl friends, Mimi got stuck in a pagoda during a snowstorm with Koushiro and five other children. They went out to find seven sorta "beepers", their Digivices, and as they picked them up..., they were thrown into the weird Digital World, and had to teamwork and play along to survive with seven Digimons, one of them being her partner: the plant Digimon Palmon.

At first Mimi wasn't really much of a help. She used to complain, wail, and piss her companions with her self-centered attitude, so that they first thought (specially people like Koushiro or Yamato) that she was only an airhead. But not! Mimi's gentler side unfurled progresively, and she wails less and less and makes herself stronger. Thanks to it, Palmon is also able to strnghten, as proven in the times she digievolves, in the File Island (Black Gear saga) into Togemon and, in Odaiba already (in the Vamdemon saga), into Lillymon.

At the Blakc Masters saga, many of the Digidestined have crisis, and one of them is Mimi. She takes VERY hard her Dig-friend's deaths, and when the tension explodes thanks to Taichi and Yamato's BIG fight, she decided to stay put. Jyou stays with Mimi to take care of her and try to make her understand. The two, Palmon ad Gomamon wander for a while, find themselves with Ogremon (whom they make see how wrong her is by being evil) and Leomon, who finally dies to save them. It makes Mimi and Jyou meditate about their situations, and they split apart: Jyou searches for Yamato, and Mimi reunites more friendly Digimons to get stronger against Piedmon and CIA.  Mimi then is able to overcome her fears towards the possibility of Palmon dying, and reunites with the Digidestined to fight.

Who's this?, you'll ask yourselves. Well, yep, this is the new Mimi! In 02 season, Mimi has moved to America with her family and studies there to become a fashion designer, but that doesn't makes her forget about her friends in Japan, and she constantly comes to check on them. She's still very close to Jyou and Koushiro, and becomes a sorta idol for Miyako, one of the new Digidestined.
